Cadets at the Celtics Game

25 Mar

A number of the Cadets took the Downeaster from Wells to Boston to see the Celtics take on the Detroit Pistons on February 15th. Before the game, the cadet’s elite color guard presented the colors at the opening ceremony.  The trip was chaperoned by the school resource officers, parents, and several executive board members.

This trip is to reward the cadets for the community service projects they have participated in over the past year such as; Toys for Tots, The Maine Children’s Cancer Program, National Night Out, Sticker Shock against teen drinking, and Shoveling for the Seniors and Law Enforcement Together program after recent storms.

The cadets are male and female Junior and Senior High Students who have completed physical training, character building activities and participate in weekly meetings and drills as well as community service projects on a regular basis. The youth in this program clearly exemplify the tenants of their patches which state “Integrity, Pride, Honor, & Leadership” under the supervision of Sanford’s School Resource Officers; Michael Gordon and Tipper Thornton.

Bog Brook

26 Aug

IMPORTANT: Due to the impending storm, military facilities including BOG BROOK have been shut down for the weekend. BOG BROOK trip has been postponed until an upcoming school vacation – info to follow. Officer Gordon will post more info here soon. PLEASE TEXT OR CALL ANY CADETS WHO ARE NOT ON FACEBOOK!

We’ll be posting pertinent information regarding the upcoming Bog Brook trip, August 27-30th, on our Parent Page. Right now, we have listed all gear/stuff that cadets need to bring along. More info to follow.

Drop off is at Junior High, Saturday at 6am.

Pickup is also at Junior High, Tuesday at 3pm.

Bog Brook is still a go. We will be 60+ miles inland and at a military facility with generators. We just need to make sure everyone has rain gear. Let us know and we can help. Last year it was the heat that made it a challenge this year it will be a little rain. We have enough military m.r.e. (meals ready to eat) to feed a small army.

If you have any transportation issues, please email Margie at pctutor44@gmail.com and I will help out.
